Bucket list: ultimate tree house hotel in Denmark

We all dream about perfect getaways from time to time. Be it a weekend camping by the lake, or an exotic resort. If a forest sounds like a perfect retreat for you then Rasmus Lybæk has the perfect spot for you. Following his dream to bring people close to Mother Nature, he created Løvtag which is a dream destination surrounded by sublime nature in Denmark. This dream destination is near Mariager Fjord on the Als Odde peninsula.

This Tree House in Denmark is a very special destination and a unique new holiday home. The Tree House is set between twin towering karri trees and sits high above the ground. The house is surrounded by giant granite boulders, one of which rises up through the floor of the living room. The views of Karri trees and lakes can be enjoyed from the large cantilevered sunny deck. The inside of the house is light and bright and stays connected to its surroundings with the large glass doors. And yes, there is that granite boulder in the living room.

The Tree house is just2 kilometers away from the Denmark town with its wineries, breweries, galleries, shops, and restaurants. Once you are at the Tree House, you are also close to the inlet coastal walk, and a short drive from the ocean beach. Walk a little extra and you will see the world-famous attractions of Green’s Pool & Elephant Rocks, and Giants Walk in the Tingle forests. All the places are ‘must-see’ throughout the year.

Till now, only 9 houses have been built and the architect behind this Tree House is Sigurd Larsen. This is not the first structure that Sigurd Larsen has worked on, he has also designed structures like lake houses in the past. Fascinated by Larsen’s work, designs, and experience, Rasmus Lybæk chose him to make his dream come true.

One of the coolest and environment-friendly aspects of this Tree House is that not even a single tree has been harmed or removed for the construction. The cabins are designed in such a way that a tree could grow right through it. The first cabin is constructed around a pine tree and the 2nd & 3rd are constructed around an oak tree and a bench tree.

The house structures are built 6-8 meters (26 feet) above the ground and are reachable by a wooden bridge. The cabins are supported by a metal beam and have large windows to the west and south to allow plenty of natural light. The Tree Houses is available for bookings and has enough space to accommodate four persons. The rent for one night starts from 2,750 Danish Krone ($415 USD) for two people and includes a light breakfast.
