A 5-step guide to planning your trip around the world

Wanderlust. A strong desire to travel. Almost everyone nowadays has it, but not everyone gets to do it. If you are one of those lucky ones who get to start an adventure of taking a trip around the world, then you should make the most of it and plan every single detail of your trip. Traveling around the world is going to be fun, and it can be more fun if you follow these five steps in planning your round-the-world trip.

Step 1: List down your stops.

With 195 countries around the world, you have a lot of countries to choose from for your stops. It can be difficult to choose, especially if you don’t really plan on stopping at each of these 195 countries, but a good way to make a decision is by prioritizing the cities and countries that you have always wanted to visit or have always had a fascination with. Think about the culture, food, and other experiences that you would like to have during your world travel.

Step 2: Save up for your travel budget.

Traveling around the world will be very expensive. Even if you decide to just go backpacking, which can be a cheaper way to travel, you will still need a lot of money to fund your whole trip. To help you have a strong start, it will be a good idea to begin saving as early as you can. Depending on your timeline, the type of accommodation and the different experiences that you’d like to have, you will need to have the right amount of money to cover your needs.

Step 3: Create an itinerary for your sightseeing.

Apart from figuring out your stops and your funds, you should also think about the different sights you would like to visit. What you should remember is that your trip won’t be worth it if you don’t immerse yourself into the culture of every country that you visit. Experience living a different life for a while in a foreign country and enjoy every minute of your travel.

Step 4: Let your loved ones know about your plan.

Of course, you should never forget to inform your loved ones about your adventures. You don’t have to detail everything to them, but just as a contingency, it’s a good idea to let them know where you are at and how you are doing. You wouldn’t know if you need help from someone you know, just in case you lose your money, got sick or experience something unexpected that will need immediate attention from the people from home.

Step 5: Create memories and enjoy your trip!

Traveling is supposed to be enjoyable. So if you want to plan a stress-free trip, jumping from one country to another, plan everything and make sure to make the most of every opportunity that presents itself. Wherever you may plan to go to, the most important part of the experience is that you enjoy.
